The ever-changing landscape of the sport has led to a new future for Linganore Oakdale Urbana Youth Athletic Association (LOUYAA) Soccer.

LOUYAA Soccer has partnered with the Frederick Soccer Club (FSC) and the Damascus Soccer Club (DSC) to develop a new program — Alliance Soccer Club.  “All three clubs are combining their resources and their vast experience to create the best possible learning environment for your child,” said LOUYAA Soccer Commissioner Mark Timberlake.  LOUYAA’s primary goal, according to Timberlake, is to grow the Association’s boys and girls’ programs by offering its members a fun, challenging and competitive learning environment.

“It is the goal of Alliance Soccer Club to offer a professional soccer environment at a very reasonable cost. It is not our goal to make a profit, but to be a club where children and families come first and our kids develop into skilled players who love the game,” Timberlake said.

Along with the name change, LOUYAA players will have new uniforms and colors with the Alliance Soccer Club logo displayed upon them.  Practices and games will continue to be held in the same manner in which they are currently operating.

“You will see very little impact or changes in our day-to-day operations,” said Timberlake.  Timberlake credits the dedication and commitment of Jim Oman and the coaching staff with devising the new structure of LOUYAA’s soccer program.

“The changes to our Academy programs have been an overwhelming success, and the new structure is offering our players the fundamental and more advanced skills needed to be successful,” Timberlake said.

According to officials, LOUYAA classic recreational teams will continue to be formed within the same geographical areas with licensed coaches instructing teams of neighbors, friends and classmates.

Timberlake is calling all residents interested in coaching and making a difference in the lives of area youth to step up to better Alliance Soccer Club.

“As we grow this new club, our objective is not only to develop great youth players, but to develop coaches as well,” said Timberlake. “With a greater pool of players, new fields, and experienced professional coaches, our new club will offer players and coaches more opportunities.”

Starting this fall, LOUYAA Soccer officially becomes Alliance Soccer Club.

LOUYAA remains the parent organization, and Alliance Soccer Club registered players will be a part of the greater LOUYAA organization.
