This will be your primary resource for all of the  LOUYAA Lax Spring information.

Girls will play in the Western Maryland Youth Lacrosse Conference (WMYLC) during the spring season. 

Competitive teams will be fielded at the U11, U13 & U15 age divisions.  Instructional games are played at the U9 age level. 

The season consists of 10 conference games and games are scheduled on Sundays (make-up games scheduled as calendar permits).  Our girls will practice a minimum of 2- evenings a week and practices will begin by the first week in March.  The season opener will be the end of March. 

LOUYAA Girls participate in the Western Maryland Lacrosse Festival the first weekend of June.  Our U13 & U15 teams will also participate in the Cherry Blossom Festival in early April, while our U9 & U11 teams have the option to participate in a post-season tournament. 

Equipment -
Crosse (Girls Lacrosse Stick), Goggles, Mouth guard
Recommended equipment: cleats

Boys will play in the Southern Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (SMYLA) during the spring season. 

Competitive teams will be fielded at the U11, U13, & U15 age divisions in both “A” & “B” team levels.  Both “A” & “B” teams will play for standings to determine standings for the end of season tournament in Bowie, Maryland.  Instructional games are played at the U9 age level. 

The season consists of 10 conference games and will be scheduled on Saturdays (make-up games are scheduled as calendar permits).  Our boys will practice a minimum of 2-evenings a week.  There will be try-outs for all but the U9 age level to be held in late February (TBA) to determine team placements and opening weekend will be the end of March. 

LOUYAA Boys participate in the SMYLA Tournament the weekend before Memorial Day and all teams have the chance to participate in an optional post-season tournament. 

Equipment -
Equipment required for games:  Lax Helmet, Mouth guard, Shoulder pads, Arm pads,  Gloves, Boys Lax Stick
Equipment recommended:  Rib pads, Athletic supporter, cleats

Scoopers is a coed program for players in Kindergarten and First grade without lacrosse experience.  Scoopers will practice one time a week and will participate in 3 to 5 games the second half of their season, which will begin in April.  Scoopers are required to have a regulation lacrosse stick (girls should have a women’s stick; boys should have a men’s stick) and a mouth guard.  Girls are encouraged to wear goggles if they are available and boys are encouraged to wear gloves if available.
