Welcome to the 2008 LUYAA Cheerleading program!
We
have a lot of great ideas and plans for the upcoming season and hope
you can join us!
Registration:
Online registration starts May 5th. Walk in registration
will be May 10th from 8am-2pm at NMMS cafeteria. A late
fee of $25 will be applied to anyone registering on and after May 26th.
We
will be accepting children entering grades K-8 (we are asking
parents to use their best judgment when signing up Kindergartners,
remember they will have a full day of school and practice twice a
week along with early morning games on weekends).
The
only thing we will be selling at registration this year is spirit
wear; please remember LUYAA only accepts check or cash.
Camp:
We will be holding camp on August 4-7th. More detail will be given
out at registration. Camp is not mandatory, but highly
recommended. Routines that are taught at camp will be used during
games and halftimes.
Practices:
We will start off by our typical two week practices. August 18-21
from 6-8, then August 25-28 from 6-8. Please keep in mind how
important these practices are!! This is where the girls learn the
majority of the cheers for the whole season. Following those two
weeks we will jump into the regular practice schedule of Tuesdays
and Thursdays from 6-8. Practices are MANDATORY; if you can not
attend please make every effort to let the coach know. Please keep
in mind that your coach is volunteering their time, so please make
every effort to pick up your child on time!
Games:
We are a travel team, so be prepared to travel as far as
Reisterstown. Parents are responsible for transportation.
Volunteers:
We are
also looking for people who are interested in coaching, assistant
coaching, Jr. Coaching, banquet team, cookie team, Uno’s team, and
Spirit wear sales.
