Getting Ready for the Season
Gear: If you don’t have it already, go ahead and get it now, so your player
can start practicing! We will have some stick packages available for sale at
the on-site registration as well as at the parents meeting.
(See the tab to the left for
Girls Equipment).
Conditioning: Conditioning: Start warming up now. Practice stick skills;
find a partner or a wall, and practice, practice, practice. Players must
work on stick skills outside of practice times in order to be successful on
the field. Also, do some stretching, conditioning (sit ups, push ups,
lunges, etc) and running. See the “Conditioning” tab for more information.
Equipment requirements for practices and games:
LAX Goggles/ eyewear
Mouthpiece (mandatory that it is colored; not clear or white)
Girls LAX stick
Cleats: Not required, but highly recommended
Uniforms:
Uniforms are provided, and must be returned at the end of the
season. (Except U9 team, who will receive t-shirts they get to keep.)
Players are expected to wear black shorts and appropriate footwear to games
Players are expected to wear sport clothing (no jeans), and appropriate
footwear to practices

Please understand that teams count on all players to attend all practices
and all games, and be on time and ready to go. Be sure to communicate with
your coach of any changes, injuries, or issues of importance. Otherwise,
please leave the coaching to the coaches. They are approachable, but are
also very skilled and committed to our primary goals. Please follow the
LUYAA chain of command as needed for additional communication.

ABSOLUTELY
NO JEWELRY WILL BE PERMITTED DURING GAMES.
(WMYLC used to allow newly pierced ears to be taped, but that is no longer
permitted. Please consider waiting until after lacrosse season to have ears
pierced.)
Age
groupings:
U15 - Grades 7 & 8
U13 - Grades 5 & 6
U11 – Grades 3 & 4
U9 - Grades K - 2
Players may be
moved up to a higher level, but cannot be moved down. Team assignments are
made by the coordinator, with input from coaches and parents.

Girls typically practice on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
